Speaker for October 2026 Meeting

October 13, 2026

Please join us on October 13, 2026, for our monthly LAA General Membership and Board Meetings. We are honored to welcome Mr. Bryan Barmore, a member of the Langley Alumni Association, for a presentation on the Master Naturalist Program.

Bryan Barmore has always enjoyed the outdoors, starting early with camping with his family and backpacking with Boy Scouts. He became an avid photographer in high school and currently focuses on wildlife and landscape photography. He became a Virginia Master Naturalists in 2014. He focuses his volunteer work on Community Science activities, particularly around birds, butterflies, and habitat restoration. Bryan and his wife have been active birders for over 30 years.

Professionally he graduated from Ohio University and the College of William & Mary with degrees in Physics. He retired from NASA Langley this year after 25 years spending the first 15 years improving the safety and efficiency of commercial air transportation. The last ten years were spent in project and technical management supporting NASA’s Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate and Langley’s Aeronautics Research Directorate. He led the development of international standards for ADS-B applications and was an author of the Advanced Air Mobility National Strategy in 2025. But the highlight of his career was probably having an image of him in the lab shown on the Late Show with David Letterman.
