Speaker for November 2026 Meeting
November 10, 2026
Please join us on November 10, 2026, for our monthly LAA General Membership and Board Meetings. We are honored to welcome LAA’s own Neil O’Connor who will be presenting on NASA Langley’s Air Traffic Control Laboratory (ATOL).

Neil O’Connor retired from the NASA Langley Research Center in January 2026, having served in a variety of leadership roles since joining NASA in 2000. He primarily worked in the Crew Systems and Aviation Operations research areas, serving in both line and project leadership roles. He also served in a variety of leadership roles on an acting basis, including leading a Source Evaluation Board and two stints as the Chief Operations Officer for the Research Directorate.
A key role in the Crew Systems and Aviation Operations has been serving as the manager of the Air Traffic Operations Lab (ATOL) focused on outreach and capability enhancement. Under Neil’s leadership, the ATOL significantly expanded its capabilities and impacts in support of NASA and the FAA.
Since retiring, Neil has had more time to focus on flying, volleyball, puttering around the house, and volunteering as a Master Gardener at local schools.
