HALL OF HONOR 2022 NOMINATION INSTRUCTIONS

We encourage you to consider nominating a deserving individual for The Hall of Honor (HoH) Class of 2022. All nominees must satisfy the following critical Criterial for Selection. Please follow instructions below on how to submit your nomination. If you have any questions, please email info@larcalumni.org.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Nominees shall be evaluated based on the following criteria:

A minimum of 10 years’ work for NACA and/or NASA at Langley Research Center. Civil servants and/or near site contractor nominees are eligible.

The nominees shall have made sustained contributions to and had far-reaching influence on the leadership, direction, mission and capabilities of the NACA Langley Memorial Aeronautical Laboratory, NASA Langley Aeronautical Laboratory, or NASA Langley Research Center.

The nominee must have made unprecedented and fundamental contributions to the advancement of either a technical and/or science field or mission support, with significant impacts to the United States aerospace community for commercial or military aircraft, spacecraft, or atmospheric sciences.

The nominee must be fully retired & no longer directly engaged with NASA Langley as a contractor or consultant.

NOMINATIONS

Nominations may be made by any organization or individual familiar with the nominee’s achievements. Self-nominations will not be considered. All nominations must be submitted on the official online nomination form provided on the Langley Alumni Association web site https://www.larcalumni.org/. No candidate shall be considered by the HoH Honorees Selection Committee unless formally nominated in advance in accordance with these guidelines. The HoH Honorees Selection Committee shall determine the anticipated number of persons to be selected for each Class of Inductees.

All nominations shall be submitted using the online form below. They need to be submitted to the HoH Operations Committee beginning on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, and by the deadline of Friday, January 14, 2022, for review of completeness and eligibility.

NOMINATION CONTENT

All nominations shall consist of completing the elements of the official online form – no additional content or other material will be accepted or reviewed. The synopsis of the nominee’s career shall address:

  • An overview of the candidate’s contributions to aerospace & atmospheric sciences & specific achievements.

  • The impact of the achievements & how they benefited NACA/NASA & the aerospace community.

  • Appropriate additional relevant information, e.g., the nominee’s dates & places of work, professional affiliations and awards, degrees held, etc.

  • Any other information relevant to the nominee’s qualifications.

    SELECTION OF HONOREES

    All qualifying nominations will then be evaluated by the HoH Honorees Selection Committee which shall recommend their selections for further review & selection of the honorees.

    In the online Nomination Form below provide information for each of the blocks. The Basis for Nomination block allows for a description of up to 4000 characters.   • Basis for your Nomination. There is a 4000-character limit. It is strongly suggested you create this Basis for Nomination in a separate editor and then simply cut and paste it here.

IMPORTANT: Your input data is not saved unil you select SUBMIT at the end of nomination form. You can only submit your nomination once. Once you begin to fill out the form, if you close the nomination webpage or leave it idle >20 minutes prior to selecting SUBMIT, all previously entered information will be lost.
