HALL OF HONOR 2027 NOMINATION INSTRUCTIONS
We encourage you to consider nominating a deserving individual for The Hall of Honor (HoH) Class of 2027. All nominees must satisfy the following Selection Criteria. SELECTION CRITERIA
Nominees shall be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- A minimum of 10 years’ work for NACA and/or NASA at the Langley Research Center. Civil servants and/or near-site contractor nominees are eligible.
- The nominee must be fully retired & no longer directly engaged with NASA Langley as a contractor, consultant, or Emeritus Langley Associate.
- The nominees must have made unprecedented and fundamental contributions to advancing technical, scientific, or mission support expertise, resulting in significant impacts across the U.S. aerospace community, including commercial aviation, military aircraft, spacecraft, and atmospheric sciences. (Focus: Mission execution, breakthrough achievements, technical excellence, and measurable results)
- The nominees must have made sustained contributions that have had a far-reaching influence on the leadership, strategic direction, mission, and long-term capabilities of the NACA Langley Memorial Aeronautical Laboratory, the NASA Langley Aeronautical Laboratory, and the NASA Langley Research Center. (Focus: Vision, innovation, organizational leadership, workforce development, and building future capabilities.)
- The nominees must have made extraordinary contributions to NASA Langley’s continuous improvement through collaboration, innovation, process optimization, and knowledge sharing that enhanced mission effectiveness, strengthened organizational performance, and enabled long-term success. (Focus: Operational excellence, mentoring, efficiency, culture, lessons learned, and incremental improvements that compound over time.)
NOMINATIONS
Nominations may be made by any organization or individual familiar with the nominee’s achievements. Self-nominations will not be considered. No candidate shall be considered by the HoH Honorees Selection Committee unless formally nominated in advance in accordance with these guidelines.
All nominations shall be submitted using the official online form located on the Langley Alumni Association web site (see link below). No additional content or other material will be accepted or reviewed. Nominations can be submitted beginning on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, and by the deadline of Friday, January 8, 2027.
SELECTION OF HONOREES
All qualifying nominations will be evaluated by the HoH Honorees Selection Committee, which shall recommend their selections for further review & final approval.

The fields defined as “Required” must be entered, all other items should be included “if known.” When you’ve finished, click SUBMIT and your nomination will be sent to the HoH Operations Committee. - Basis for your Nomination. (Required) There is a 4000 character limit, including spaces (approximately 600 words). It is strongly suggested you create this Basis for Nomination in a separate editor and then simply cut and paste it here.
- The synopsis of the nominee’s career shall address the selection criteria identified above:
- Unprecedented and fundamental contributions to advancing technical, scientific, or mission support expertise, resulting in significant impacts
- Sustained contributions that have had a far-reaching influence on the leadership, strategic direction, mission, and long-term capabilities of Langley
- Extraordinary contributions to NASA Langley’s continuous improvement through collaboration, innovation, process optimization, and knowledge sharing
- The synopsis of the nominee’s career shall address the selection criteria identified above:
IMPORTANT: Your input data is not saved until you select SUBMIT at the end of the nomination form. You can only submit your nomination once. After you begin to fill out the form, if you close the nomination webpage or leave it idle >20 minutes prior to selecting SUBMIT, all previously entered information will be lost.
